This is the first time I've not gone 'home' to New Hampshire for Christmas. I just got married and we're starting our own little family's traditions in the Pacific Northwest, which is really exciting. While I won't miss shoveling snow, I WILL miss being around family and all the fun winter activities that goes along with a winter in New England. In tribute to all the great holiday seasons I've spent in New Hampshire, here are some shots from my favorite winter destination.
View of my family's neighbor's idyllic house, lit up with a fresh snow.
My favorite barn greets guests with a festive wreath.
The mini log cabin in the woods provides a nice shelter for a break from snowshoeing or crosscountry skiing.
This canoe won't see action until the coming spring.
There's nothing like snow-heavy trees and the silence of falling snow on a walk in the woods.
The snow makes for great frolicking and snow baths with your buddy.
Everything is covered in snow or frost (even the inside of the old farmhouse windows).
And when the sun sets (by 5 p.m.), the barn lights go on to guide you home.
